Children learn about the importance of recycling, reusing and reducing waste in order to decrease their carbon footprint. Clothes and mobile phones are collected for recycling on designated days throughout the year.

Tá nósanna agus traidisiúin an-tábhachtach dúinn i nGaelscoil na bhFilí. Déantar sníomh an fhómhair chun deireadh an Fhómhair a chéiliúradh gach bliain.

It is very important for children to learn about and celebrate the past including traditions from long ago. Children learn how to make harvest knots. This was a very important tradition long ago to mark Harvest time. 

Tugann Gárda Costa na hÉireann cuairt orainn. Tugtar deis do na páistí an bád tarrthála a fheiceáil agus bualadh leis an bhfoireann tarrthála.

Members from the Irish Coast Guard visit the school to speak with children about the importance of water safety. This is always a much enjoyed and anticipated day in Gaelscoil na bhFilí; children are given the opportunity to see the lifeboat up close and ask the rescue team questions about their daily challenges.
